Love it!
I used this pan last night and absolutely love it! I would definitely recommend this, or any of the similar shaped cupcake cake pans, to anyone. Super easy to decorate, and everyone loved them. I even used my tip to make filled cupcakes and had no problems at all. :o)
I used a box cake mix, and sprayed the pan with a very good layer of Pam (they claim silicone pans don't need non-stick spray, but really...EVERY pan needs non-stick spray). The trick to removing them easily is to let the cupcakes cool completely in the pan - I think if you try to take them out while it's still warm, they're much more likely to break, crack, stick, and otherwise fall apart. I left mine in there overnight and they came out beautifully.
Pleasantly Surprised!
It came out really cute! I had no problem with the release. Just be sure and use a good spray of canola oil and let them cool quite a bit. Also, don't overfill the mold, or you'll be cutting them apart, rather than popping them out. I used really bright colors of buttercream frosting and the end result was great.
There was only one negative and that was that the finished product comes out on the small side, so it's good for toddlers, but you'll need to count on seconds if the children are older.
A Disappointment
I bought this pan for my daughter's birthday party. I decided to test it out prior to the "event" and I'm glad I did! I used Pam, but the cake totally stuck. I then tried it again (boxed mix, both times) and lined each individual section with parchment paper (a REAL PAIN), PAM'd that, and it was a little better.
Now, my daughter has her heart set on a butterfly cake, and I'm going to have to make this work out somehow. I will try it with a cake from scratch, as suggested by another reviewer...hopefully it will help! This pan is a real disappointment.
