Excellent value
I'm sure that the 5.5-qt. Le Creuset is the best Dutch oven on the market, but it's FIVE times more expensive! For that, I can be very happy with second best, which is where highly respected "Cooks Illustrated" ("America's Test Kitchen") puts the Tramontina. My first batch of venison chili was a great success: the meat browned evenly and quickly in the first step, and the chili itself simmered perfectly with the oven set at 250 degrees.
